Speedway Schools Kindergarten Program
Kindergarten students must be five years old by August 1, 2016. Our kindergarten program is for Speedway residents only.
Location of Kindergarten Classes
Each of the four elementary schools will have a Full Day Kindergarten (FDK).
Enrollment at the individual schools will determine the number of kindergarten sections.
Dates & Hours
FDK will operate on the regular full-day school calendar schedule. The first day of school is August 2, 2016.
Full Day Kindergarten Session is from 8:05 a.m. - 2:50 p.m. Registration will begin July 18, 2016.
Contact your child’s principal for more information:

Allison Elementary, Mr. Jay Bedwell 244-9836;
Wheeler Elementary, Dr. Brenda Wolfe 291-4274.
Breakfast is served to FDK students. FDK students have a thirty-minute time slot for lunch. Students may eat at school or they may go home if the parent or guardian picks them up. Each school has information about the time slot for lunch. Students who qualify for textbook assistance also qualify for free or reduced meals. Forms and information are available at each school.
Fees for the 2016-2017 school year have not been adopted yet. (Last year’s book fees were $106.00 which included $91.00 for books and a $15.00 paper fee.)
Enrollment in Kindergarten is not required in Indiana. However, if you choose to enroll your child in
Kindergarten it is expected that they would have good attendance. Our schools maintain a 97% or higher attendance rate. Each day of learning is important and we value the partnership as your child begins their formal school experience and develops life-long habits.
Before and After School Care
Information about the before and after school care options are available at each school office.
